Despite recall, Maclaren stroller panic ‘unwarranted’

Maclaren USA, Inc., a popular British baby buggy company whose strollers typically retail for more than $125, issued a voluntary recall of nine models after receiving 12 reports of children amputating their fingertips on stroller hinges while caretakers were folding or unfolding the strollers. Manufacture date codes are located on the back of the seat and include these numbers: XJ0811, XJ0812, XJ0901, and XJ0902. Return the seat to Target for a full refund. Safety 1st Stair Gates (Round 2) About 100,000 of these stair gates were recalled back in Feb. 2009. There are hinges that can break and cause a fall hazard -- something you definitely don't want from a gate used at the top of the stairs.
